It is hand carved out of one piece of soapstone, sanded until smooth, and then polished. Since this product shows the natural colors of the stone, some color variations should be expected. One can often see shades of cream, gray, pink, and brown in the design. The two loops of the wedding knot stand for a couple that has become joined through marriage, but remain two individual people. The sculpture is given to a couple on their wedding day with a blessing.
